This lighthouse was built in 1892. This serves as a cross mark and orientation light to mark the Eider fairway. The tower is made of red-brown bricks. Here you can take a nice walk or enjoy the wonderful sunset in the evening.

It is not possible to visit or climb the lighthouse.

The lighthouse is accessible on foot or by bike.

The round brick tower was built in 1892 with red-brown hard-fired clinker bricks on the top of the dyke in St. Peter-Böhl, initially only as a beacon. In 1914 a black cast-iron lantern house with a pointed copper roof was mounted.

In 1938 the fire was electrified. Halogen bulbs 120 V / 600 W with 4-way changing device serve as the light source. Since 1978 it has been remotely controlled by the Water and Shipping Office in Tönning. The cross mark light shows the change of direction for the "Eider" fairway.

The further south you drive in the direction of St. Peter Ording on the Eiderstedt peninsula, the lighter and sandier the water becomes. Due to the sand flight, it was not possible to create a harbor here. Today St. Peter Ording earns his money with the sand. The 12 km long sandy beach is a magnet for many guests from all over Germany in summer.
