Idyllic old mill with historical (residential) building. Nice courtyard. Please drive very slowly.

The Hirtesemühle was owned by the Idstein lords of Count Ludwig von Nassau until 1622 and was called "Herren-Mühle". Anna Catharina Hirtes sold the mill in 1692 (since she could not find a tenant) for 825 gulden Frankfurt currency (the gulden at 30 Albus) to: Johann (Hans) Jacob Leichtfuß.

        INFORMATION

The Hirtesemühle was owned by the Idstein lord of the castle, Count Ludwig von Nassau, until 1622 and was called the "Herren-Mühle".

At the beginning of the Thirty Years' War in 1622 the count sold the mill for 2000 Reichstaler, 60 guilders and 26 Albus to: Johann (Hans) Jacob Hirtes

Anna Catharina Hirtes sold the mill in 1692 (because she couldn't find a tenant) for 825 guilders in Frankfurt currency (the guilder at 30 Albus) to: Johann (Hans) Jacob Leichtfuss. The "Hirtesemühle" has been family-owned ever since.

The use of the buildings changed over the years from mill and agriculture through conversions to apartments and storage rooms, to a residential address for nature lovers.

The quiet location is ideal for training courses and seminars.

A bike path that leads past the mill invites you to use it to Limburg an der Lahn.

The town of Idstein with its castle, witch tower and numerous half-timbered buildings are worth a visit. It is also worth visiting the old spa town of Bad Camberg. In your free time you can hike in the woods and fields, or climb the large Feldberg in the Taunus (886m).
