The Bismarck Tower Eschwege is an approximately 26 m high monument on the summit of the Großer Leuchtberg in the Werra-Meißner district in northern Hesse. The tower was inaugurated in 1903. Before that there was a watch tower, which had long since fallen into disrepair.

Open from March to October.

The key can be borrowed from the Eschwege tourist information office outside of the opening times.

You can reach the tower in a good 15 minutes (hike) from the Leuchtbergsattel, but you can also use the longer and more strenuous variants (e.g. a good 30 minutes from Felsenkeller).

The view over Eschwege and the Werra valley is terrific on a clear day. The time in the morning and evening hours is recommended for great perspectives.

Bikers can use the hiking routes (with consideration for the hikers) or the wider forest path to get to the tower.
