The Irish National Heritage Park opened in the Summer of 1987. It's a 35 acre outdoor museum which showcases 16 reconstructed sites, each built using the materials and skills of the period. There is a restaurant as well as guided tours.

The park is Ireland's largest open-air museum. Over 9,000 years of Irish history is on display. Prehistoric Ireland, Christian and the period of Viking and Norman immigration.
You can see straw-covered houses, ring forts, dolmens, stone circles, a church, Viking ship and a Norman castle where the falconry is housed. History comes alive here and is fun for everyone.
