    Plaque that marks the end of the historic Native American route that ran all the way to Nashville.

    The Trace began as a disjointed group of Native American trails that followed the animals who roamed from the Mississippi to the salt licks in Nashville. Once the industry around the Mississippi began to pick up, the Natchez Trace started to become more well used as a direct path to Nashville.
