The Störsperre is a barrage at the mouth of the Stör in the Elbe in the municipality of Wewelsfleth. The barrage was built from 1971 to 1975 as a result of the storm surge of 1962 to protect against storm surges. For this purpose, a new estuary was dug north of the old one. (Source: Wikipedia)
