Trutnov was probably already provided with the first wooden town fortifications at the end of the 13th century, which were later replaced by stone walls. On the north side, the natural steep rocky slope and the mill race flanked the town. Three gates once provided access. The wall existed until the first half of the 19th century, after which it was removed and the stones used as a cheap building material. Nothing remains of the city gates today and only a few remains of the wall have survived the passage of time. ictrutnov.cz/en/city-wall
