Stensjö Village is recognizable from Astrid Lindgren's films about the Children in the Noise Village because several scenes were taken directly in the village or on the roads around the village. The village is a bit out of the way but is well worth a visit. Tilia's café is open Wednesdays to Sundays between 10am and 4pm.

A typical Swedish café and restaurant at the destination of our bike tour, the museum village and cultural monument Stensjö By, which is surrounded by a large nature reserve criss-crossed by rock slabs, which gives an idea of the hard life in earlier times. There is a selection of small dishes of the day, cakes and delicious waffles either with jam and cream or jam plus two scoops of ice cream. Last but not least, the trip there was worth it.The museum village itself fascinates with its ancient red wooden houses, courtyards and gardens supported on heaps of stones. There are always interesting perspectives. The nice thing for us was that the village was well frequented, but not overcrowded like little Bullerbyn, for example, so that we were able to take a lot of photos without tourists. Finally, the route leads there through light-flooded forests criss-crossed by rocks with ferns and flowering heather at the edges and past a picturesque lake. The ruggedness of the landscape through which our path led, the sight of the Swedish houses along the way combined with the many colors of the Swedish vegetation are a real feast for the eyes.
