Built on a project by the architect G.B. A friend of Trapani in the period between 1741 and 1759, it is the most impressive monument of a religious nature in Calatafimi. It stands on an esplanade obtained from the cut of the rock, dominating a large part of the town from the south. Severe neoclassical architecture does not escape the influence of the temptations of the Baroque already declined in Europe, but still present in the province. However, it is not known to us how the façade originally looked, as it was rebuilt in the second half of the 19th century (1885), perhaps impoverishing the much richer, but scarcely durable original. It has a single nave: about 40 m long. grandstand included and is about 10 meters wide, the height is mt. 17.50. The very rich interior contains works by Norrito, Mercurio, Costantino, La Bruna, Giambecchina. There are six large side altars built into the walls forming as many chapels, at the back is the large tribune in which the altar of the Most Holy Crucifix is placed, very rich in polychrome marbles and gold. Entering the church, on the right-hand side you will find the marble bust of Nicolò Mazzara, an illustrious citizen, sculpted in 1882 by Domenico Costantino from Palermo.
