The border column, which is about six meters high, was rebuilt around 1600. A column from the late Middle Ages (between 1439 and 1459) originally stood here. The border column once marked the border between Bavaria and a part of Lower Austria, namely the Austrian Margraviate of Burgau. A quarry stone is walled in on one side, on which the year 1439 and "Hie dass pairland" (Here is Bavaria) can be seen. The stone is said to come from the earlier boundary stone.
