The Podolsk Sea is an unrealized reservoir project on the territory of the Podolsky district of the Moscow region on a site of about 1000 hectares. It was intended to improve the water supply of the city, as well as for recreational purposes. Construction began in 1980 and was frozen in 1990 due to insufficient funding for the project and the presence of large voids under the bottom of the proposed reservoir.
