After breaking out of the woods, Middle Cottonwood Trail/Bridger Foothills Trail travels through a handful of different open meadows. This is a prime wildflower area in the spring months. The trail becomes progressively steeper as you get closer to the ridge, and some semi-newly built switchbacks help ease the slope at the very top.
