The cemetery in Gembes contains a Commonwealth war grave. The grave is located in the far left corner of the entrance with the Commission sign.

The grave belongs to Sergeant (Observer) Cyril Arnold Morgan.
Historical interpretation: On May 15, 1940, a Bristol Blenheim IV carries out a reconnaissance mission over Belgium. For unknown reasons it crashed in Gembes. One crew member was killed in the crash, he is buried in this cemetery. The other crew member Flying Officer MI Murdoch was captured by the Germans.

Additional explanation:
The British Expeditionary Force was involved in the later stages of the defense of Belgium following the German invasion in May 1940 and suffered many casualties during the withdrawal to Dunkirk.
