The new parish church dedicated to the B.V. Immaculate was completed on 2 September 1928 and consecrated by the Blessed Bishop Guido Maria Conforti. The patron saint is San Pantaleone, martyr, whose feast day falls on July 27th. The style of the parish church recalls the Gothic thanks to a long series of arches, single and double lancet windows; the plan is a Latin cross; as a whole it is as imposing as a cathedral due to the daring leap of gothic verticalism.
Following the telluric events which occurred in particular in the earthquakes of 1972 and 1983 in which the vaults and arches of the ceiling were damaged, an impressive consolidation intervention was carried out on the vaults themselves and the conservative restoration of the temple, with arrangement of the side chapels, the new internal painting with artistic decorations, the new stained glass windows, and the restoration of the works of art. The parish church of Medesano represents an important reference in the Jubilee context as it is located in a prominent position along the Via Francigena, on the road that connects Fidenza to Fornovo and Bardone, which has always been frequented by pilgrims traveling to Rome.
