The Future of the Fjords boat was the world's first all-electric carbon fiber ship. The ship is powered by two electric motors of 600hp each powered by a 1800kWh battery pack. This corresponds to around 60 times the capacity of a typical electric car. The installation will allow the ship to cruise 40 nautical miles at a speed of 16 knots before requiring the ship to be recharged.
