Traben-Trarbach was once a busy wine trader and the town became rich around the turn of the century.
The large wine cellars and the large and magnificent Art Nouveau villas still bear witness to this today. These cellars can be visited on guided tours.
The town actually consists of two parts, Traben and Trarbach, which are connected by a bridge.
