Dennis Head is a narrow promontory east of St Anthony-in-Meneage. It's the southern mouth of the Helford River and the northern point of the Gillan Creek. At 46 m high the headland offers great views when the bracken isn't too high.

The name Dennis comes from the Cornish 'Dinas', meaning castle. It's position, at the end of the Helford River mouth, made it an important defensive outpost. Look carefully for the remnants of guns stationed here during the English Civil War.
