With the construction of the railway in 1906, Löttorp became a station community. In the 20th century, services and trade in northern Öland were concentrated in Löttorp. Today there is a school, health center and shop, among other things.
Southwest of the church is a building that used to be a school. The house was completed in 1851 and used as a school until 1967. A few years later it was converted into a rectory.
