As a place where people congregate in the city center of Pécs, Széchenyi Square was also transformed for the city's spell as the European Capital of Culture in 2010. At the borders of this long and irregular square are some of the great monuments of Pécs , like the city and the council chambers, the Hotel Nádor and the round dome of the Pasha Qasim Mosque transformed into a church.
