It is located on the border between Italy (municipality of Cesana Torinese) and France (municipality of Cervières, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, Hautes-Alpes department). The mountain is located on the main Alpine chain from which, not far from its summit, a rib separates towards the north which divides the main groove of the Val Thuras (lateral valley of the Val di Susa) from the lateral valley of the Chabaud torrent, and which includes the Cima Dorlier and Mount Giassez.
