It's nice and quiet during the week, but there's a lot of traffic here on weekends and public holidays.

The Mundelsheim Neckar loop is one of the most impressive Neckar loops still in existence today (once, many thousands of years ago, the Neckar made further loops and washed out further curvy slopes, such as at Gundelsheim or even further down at Minneburg), the vineyard slopes are staggered to form an impressive wall and are aligned towards the sun like a parabolic mirror.
In summer, on hot days, it gets almost unbearably hot in the vineyards.
If you have the time and inclination, drive along the Trollinger Straße up the panoramic path halfway up to the Königshäusle, the impressive and far-visible stately Wängertshäusle of the Herzog von Württemberg winery, built by the former King of Württemberg. From here you have a wonderful view over the Neckar valley and the Neckar loop and get a feel for the steep vineyard slopes and the effort involved in cultivating them.
If you plan it well, you can take a bottle of VDP wine at the foot of the mountain, at the last farm in the village, before heading to the vineyards, and enjoy the wonderful view and location up here.
Unfortunately, it is a dead end and you have to roll back down, but the Käsberg is worth all the effort.

Everyone talks about the Saarschleife - here in Mundelsheim the Neckarschleife is much nicer - Really!
