Lots of gravel and scree, plus gradients of up to 18%.
Exhausting, most of the time you have to push (tour bike). Certainly easier to master with a gravel bike. Views are beautiful and the route is rarely used.

Cycling
Very steep with rough gravel, difficult to ride with narrow tires. The slovenian part is a little easier. Plan enough time for this segment! (coming from Austria the uphill part alone took us 1h45 with heavy bikes)
