A gate in the eastern part of the defensive wall.

Defensive walls from the second half of the 13th century, approx. 2000 meters long. In the fifteenth century, their height was increased to 7-9 m, the foregates, towers and lookouts were expanded. After 1650, part of the lookout was changed into houses for the poor. After the war, part of the walls were restored. The following towers have survived to this day: Owl, Powder, Lodowa, Drunken, Mnisza. The embankments from the 13th century surrounded the town for a length of 2,250 m. Together with the moat and mill ponds, they provided sufficient protection against invasions. In the years 1830 - 1845 the embankments were turned into a walking promenade. The moats were partly buried and used as gardens
