Tommy's Field is a peaceful location by the banks of the Wansbeck River, offering scenic views of the medieval castle gates. A public footpath runs through the site, attracting walkers and locals who appreciate the open space of the allotments.

This area provides an opportunity for Morpeth residents to grow their own vegetables and flowers in the fertile soil. It also contributes to a wildlife corridor, supporting bees, butterflies, and other insects.

For generations, Tommy's Field has been an important part of Morpeth's history. The land was historically used by the Freemen of Morpeth for grazing between September and March. The field got its name from Tommy Longstaff, a 19th-century business owner who ran a pub and tannery on the site.

Today, Tommy's Field remains a cherished sanctuary where residents can connect with nature, enjoy gardening, and appreciate the beauty of Morpeth's landscape.
