Lütetsburg Castle has belonged to the Counts of Inn and Knyphausen since the end of the 16th century. The moated castle is still the family home today. The floor plan of the palace complex dates from the Renaissance, the outer bailey with its beautiful gatehouse dates from the Baroque period. The castle was destroyed several times and was only built in its present form by the predecessor of the current owners, Prince Wilhelm Edzard, after the Second World War. The previous Neo-Renaissance building was badly damaged by a bomb attack in 1944 and completely destroyed by a fire in 1956.

The Lütetsburg Castle Park is part of the estate of the same name. It is laid out in the style of an English landscape garden. On a stroll through the 30-hectare palace park, visitors will discover places of remembrance and history, e.g. the "Freundschaftstempel" (a thatched round temple built in 1797) or the "Nordic Chapel" built in 1802 (Christian hermits once withdrew here to pray). The highlight of the park is the "Unico Hill", which is 11 meters high and is reminiscent of the ancestor chief Unico Manniga. In the southern part of the park, the "Bosse - Hütte" built in the 1930s and dedicated to the Oldenburg court gardener Carl Ferdinand Bosse offers protection from storms. In good weather, visitors can rest on numerous benches, some with historical inscriptions, and take in the beauty of the park.

In spring you can experience a sea of blossoms from rhododendrons and azaleas.

The castle park also includes the castle park cafe, the park shop and a burial forest. Since 2019, newly built tree houses can be booked as exclusive, natural accommodation.
