The upper Kiental valley lies in the Bernese Oberland and belongs to the municipality of Reichenbach im Kandertal. This secluded valley stretches from the village of Kiental up to the Hohtürli Pass and is surrounded by steep rock faces and alpine meadows. The Kienbach stream originates here and flows into the Kander river further downstream.
