Dünsberg - mountain of the Celts! From here you can clearly see it in the distance.When the days are at their shortest, between December 21st and New Year's Day, the Langensteiner Menhir, the Dünsberg near Giessen and the setting sun are roughly in line.
The Celts worship the Dünsberg as the sacred mountain of Belenus, the god of light.
The Langenstein menhir is therefore part of an old annual clock.
Apparently, the Celts were able to determine the winter solstice in this way almost four thousand years ago.Source:
