Due to the growing Protestant population, e.g. Due to the influx of numerous Protestant officials who worked in the seat of government in Arnsberg from 1816, the construction of a new Protestant church became necessary. Thus, between 1822 and 1825, the city's first evangelical church was built in Arnsberg.
The classical central building in the form of an isosceles Greek cross by Karl Friedrich Schinkel was built within the new Kassizismusviertel, which developed from 1816 around the Arnsberg Neumarkt.
A tower with a surrounding gallery is arranged above the central building. Inside the church, eight Doric columns enclose the central space. In the eastern part of the church is the classical altar with an altarpiece by the Düsseldorf artist Ernst Deger. The altarpiece was added in 1834 and shows the resurrection of Christ.
Between 1890 and 1891 the church was extended to the west, so that the isosceles structure of the cross can no longer be experienced. A part of this extension was separated again in the course of the widespread shrinking of the community and is now used for community work. In the 1950s, the interior of the central building was redesigned according to the classical model. The pews have been replaced by chairs so that the church can be used more flexibly.

The Church of the Resurrection is a very good place to introspect and reflect. She also looks very good.
