On the occasion of his marriage to Princess Marie von Isenburg-Büdingen, Prince Ludwig laid out the palace park, a landscaped garden, in the first third of the nineteenth century. The castle pond is reminiscent of the old moat that ran around the castle. The remains of a tea house can be seen on a former earthen bastion. In 1719, the Count's government issued the building permit for the Untermühle, which is located at the entrance to the castle garden from Heinrich-Neeb-Straße.
