It is a very characteristic and distinctive point of the town. Built at the end of the 19th century during the renovation of the port, it is small in size as there is no guardian's residence.
"Mandatory" stop for a trip to Desenzano ✅️

Desenzano del Garda is one of the places on the lake that most resemble a seaside town.
Not so much for the beaches (we are still talking about the lake), but for the roads and services.
The lakeside promenade is quite long (let's say it takes about 20/25 minutes to do it all on foot) and in the internal streets there are restaurants, pubs, pizzerias, ice cream parlors, fashion shops, etc.
On Saturday evenings it is always a crowded place (also for this reason it reminds us of the sea) and in addition to being the starting point of the Gardesana (a single lane road that runs along the entire lake and on which even very long things are generated during the summer weekends) It can also be reached via the Brescia ring road and the A4 motorway (there is the Desenzano exit).
The lighthouse and the port are also characterized by the swans and other palmipeds that I photographed... You can find them all year round.
Desenzano is also a mooring point for motor ships and from there you can take a cruise on the lake.
