    Monument B134a,
    Bomb shelter Krumpa

Building 134a is an air-raid shelter from 1944. It is standing
today symbolic of the dysplasia of a technological development, which was spurred on by the motorization of Germany at the end of the 1920s using local lignite and which ended in World War II.

After the start of the Allied air offensive on May 12, 1944 against German fuel plants, planning and construction of above-ground air defense systems began at the Lützkendorf plant (Wintershall AG).

Fragmentation protection cells were increasingly used from 1943 in guarded civil and military facilities for post protection.
They should protect against shrapnel and ammunition from handguns in an emergency.
However, they would not have withstood a bomb or near-bomb hit.

Since the location of the air raid shelter was near an overflow tank of the local drinking water network, it can be assumed that this was guarded against sabotage at the end of the war. Unfortunately, despite intensive research, the manufacturer could not be determined or there were contradictory statements on this.

Interesting air raid shelter in Krumpa, which can be viewed every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month.
