The east-facing, white-plastered church has a rectangular floor plan and is crowned by a roof turret. The narrow windows have pointed arches. The furnishings are modern except for a wooden altarpiece from the 18th century and a carved Vesperbild, which is dated to the middle of the 15th century.

Hiking

Legend has it that a stolen communion chalice was rediscovered at this spot. The spot was marked with a linden stick. It is said to have then turned green, giving rise to the so-called "1,000-year-old" linden tree. In gratitude for the rediscovery, Bishop Albrecht II of Halberstadt had this church built in 1334. Since then, the church has been a place of pilgrimage. The church is Romanesque in style and has a modernized interior.

Very nice little church, which is lovingly maintained. If you want to get in and stand in front of a locked door, you can call the number on the information board next to the door. With luck, you will be granted admission. In the backyard are the remains of a linden tree and an altar with an eventful history. For the Way of St. James you get a pilgrim temple here.
