Klosterberg Chapel - Kiedrich 🚴‍♂️

Coming from Eltville, this small chapel is located at the edge of Kiedrich, on the slopes of the Rheingau Mountains.

Unmissable and worth a look, you can cycle right past it on Bingerpfortenstraße... 🚴‍♂️

Interesting fact: It was privately built in 1872 by a local couple and sold to the Kiedrich parish church of St. Valentine in 1875. A cast in the form of a terracotta Madonna from 1440, probably from Eberbach Monastery, adorns the interior of the building. The Gothic crucifix (Heiligenstock) made of red sandstone (14th century) next to the entrance was for centuries one of the main boundary stones between Kiedrich and Erbach, one of the oldest border markers in the Rheingau. 🚴‍♂️
