The mill in the hamlet near Stühlingen-Blumegg is one of the oldest still almost completely preserved mills in Germany and a rarity in terms of technology. Three mill wheels can drive five grinding and stamping mills at once. In this way, grains were ground, corn, fruit, oilseeds, and bones were pounded, gypsum rock was crushed, and manure gypsum was ground up. A gifted master mill builder constructed the plant in the 18th century for the St. Blasien monastery. The origins of the mill go back to the 14th century.
