The ruins of the historic Residence of the French Colonial Governor at Sassandra are in a dramatic location on the hill at the end of the peninsula, with excellent views all around. The place always benefits from the slightly chilly wind from the sea. Free access to the beach next to the prefecture.

Remains of the residence of the Governor who ran the Sassandra region during the French occupation. Unfortunately the building is abandoned with no effort to protect it as one of the few tourist attractions in the country's colonial history.
