Museo Antropologico y de Arte Contemporaneo (English: "Museum of Anthropology and Contemporary Art"), or MAAC, is a state-of-the-art museum in Guayaquil, Ecuador that celebrates Ecuadorian, Latin American, and pre-Columbian art and culture. MAAC is a welcome addition to Malecón 2000, Guayaquil's renovated riverfront promenade. Inaugurated on July 30, 2003, MAAC aims to constitute itself as a catalyst for the development of local, regional and national artistic culture.
