The 2034 m high Bâlea Lake (also Bulea Lake, Romanian Lacul Bâlea, Romanian place name also Bâlea Lac, Hungarian Bilea-tó) is a glacial lake in the Romanian Carpathians. The lake and the surrounding area are absolutely worth seeing. Tourists can access it in summer via the Transfagarascher Hochstraße. The rest of the time it can only be reached from the north by cable car from the Bâlea Waterfall (Bâlea Cascada).
