View of Sarntal Valley and Kratzberger See

Hike possible up to here in May, then fields of snow on the last stretch to Kratzberger See....not accessible at the moment....

The Kratzenbergsee is somewhat remote from Meran 2000. From Missenstiener Joch it takes about 20-30 minutes to walk. But these are definitely worth it! The lake has a very quiet location with a wide view over the mountains. From the lake the water falls down the mountain through a waterfall. This is a nice view while walking to the lake. The path is narrow, but doable for everyone. However, sturdy shoes are recommended because there are a lot of stones and rocks there. Along the path you are very close to the goats and ibexes. As soon as you are at the lake, you can hear the bells of the mountain goats at the top of the mountain. If you look closely, you can also see the herd. Binoculars can help. A unique experience that would be repeated again and again. The tour is also doable for beginners and is an indescribable experience.
