Strielčiukai Hiking Trail

It is believed that a castle stood in the Rokantiškii castle site as early as the 12th century. The residential castle belonged to the Alšėniški family, who later sold it to Bona Sforca. The castle belonged to the families of Goštautas and Pacas, until it was burned down during the war with the Duchy of Moscow. Such a historical place is also the beginning of a cognitive trail. Still, it is worth visiting here not only for fans of history, because from the Rokantiškii castle there are excellent views with the panorama of New Vilnius.
Streelčiukai zigtakis sounds rather strange, but it is not named that way by chance. The castle guards who were the first to meet retreating enemies were called strielčukii. Strielčiukų žigtakis is an educational trail that takes you back to the times when the castle stood and introduces you to the life of that era.
Strielčiukų žygtakis offers a walk along two routes, one of which is 2.5 km long, the other 3.5 km long. Both routes are circular.
