Saint Severin (5th century) is said to have performed two miracles here during his visit to Kuchl, the candle miracle and the locust miracle, which you can read in the biography of Eugippius.
In the 17th century, an outside pulpit was added to enable the proclamation to be made to a large number of pilgrims.
