Unterhimmel is a place in the Steyrtal in the Traunviertel of Upper Austria, which is part of the statutory city of Steyr. It is located directly north of Christkindl, below the river terrace on the banks of the Steyr, at around 300 m above sea level. A. Height. A former mill channel, the Alte Steyr, also called Himmlitzer Bach or Fischerbach, runs through the town. The place includes around 45 addresses.

Unterhimmel is known for its baroque Christkindl pilgrimage church, which is named after a wax figure of the child Jesus in the high altar. The church was begun in 1702 according to plans by Carlo Antonio Carlone, who was based on the Roman Pantheon. The church is a popular place of worship and also houses a Loreto Chapel and a Nepomuk Chapel.

Unterhimmel is also a natural paradise surrounded by the Unterhimmler Au. The Au is a protected area complex that consists of a nature reserve, a landscape protection area, a protected forest and a European protected area. The Au offers many opportunities for walking, hiking and swimming along the crystal-clear Steyr River.
