The war memorial sits enthroned on a hill, the Kegelberg, high above the town of Alfeld and is accessible via a staircase. The mighty, brick monument, crowned by the cross of paws, is very imposing and from the hill you have a beautiful view over Alfeld and the surrounding area. You can also go up by MTB.
