Beautiful view. Very demanding on the bike though. Very rocky. You sometimes have to push. The Butterstieg down the back is doable, but also very rocky.

Beautiful view of Lower Saxony's second highest mountain. View over the Bruchberg summit, over Clausthal, Altenau, Okerstausee, as far as Torfhaus and Brocken.

The Bruchberg has wonderful hiking trails for you - the special highlight is the Wolfswarte, which you can climb about 700 m northeast of the summit of the Bruchberg. The Bruchberg, located in the core zone of the Harz National Park, is the second highest mountain in Lower Saxony at around 927 meters above sea level. Near the summit you will find the Wolfswarte, a forestless crest made of weathered Acker-Bruchberg quartzite. When the weather is good, you have a breathtaking view from the Wolfswarte and can climb the highest mountain in the Harz Mountains, the Brocken,

From Altenau you can hike on the Wolfswarter Weg to the Wolfswarte. This trail is connected to the Steile-Wand-Straße, which leads from Altenau to Torfhaus, in several places. The easiest way to get to the Wolfswarte is to take the last connection. You will reach this at a height of about 760 m shortly before the first parking lot on the steep wall. This hiking trail finally merges into the Butterstieg, on which you then reach the Wolfswarte. Alternatively, you can climb the Wolfswarte directly from Torfhaus. This has a length of about 4 km.
