During the Italian occupation, a bunker was built here that reached 30 meters underground. After the Second World War, the base was expanded by the Yugoslav People's Army and used as a depot, barracks and to monitor maritime traffic in the northern Adriatic. After the war in the Balkans, the base was later abandoned by the Croatian army.
Currently (June 2023) it is still possible to climb the viewpoint of the facility, from where you have a wonderful all-round view of the surrounding islands and the open sea towards Italy.
