The Oscarsborg is very steeped in history, since in the 2nd World War the German "Blücher" was sunk by torpedoes without ever having fired a shot.
On Monday, May 29th, 2023, we explored the two islands of the Oscarsborg when the USS Gerald R. Ford, the largest and most modern aircraft carrier in the USA with around 90 jets and helicopters on board, passed us directly.
The aircraft carrier was in the port of Oslo for a few days for NATO maneuvers.
Sailing out of the Oslofjord was spectacular and drew a lot of people to shore.
