The architectural style is a mix of the English Cottage style and the Amsterdam School. The cottage houses were built around 1920 for the workers of the Hevea factory.

Beautiful village near Doorwerth in Renkum Municipality, Gelderland, Netherlands .🇳🇱
Heveadorp was founded in 1916 by Dirk Frans Wilhelmi as a company town for the workers at his rubber factory Heveafabriek.
Hevea is the scientific name for the rubber plant.🌿
🪖During the German occupation of the Netherlands, the factory was used for war purposes. During Operation Market Garden 🪂 the factory and village were badly damaged.

In 1888, a dairy farm was established on the Duno Estate. When this large company moved to Groningen in 1914, the site was taken over by N.V. Nederlandse Rubberfabrieken. The company had a village built for its employees: Heveadorp. The young local architect Jan Rothuisen was commissioned to design a village. He designed the thatched cottage houses that still attract many visitors to Heveadorp. The blocks of houses were built between 1916 and 1921 and were named after the Indian islands where rubber was extracted; Borneo, Celebes etc.
