Brief explanation from Wikipedia: "Ek Balam is dominated by Building No. 1, now commonly called the Acropolis, whose ancient name is given in inscriptions as Sac Xoc Naj (White House of Learning). It is undoubtedly the largest surviving Mayan building -Culture in the north of the Yucatán Peninsula.The building occupies a rectangular area of 160 m in length and around 70 m in width.The tallest component still rises 31 m above the site, but was originally around 6 m higher.
