The Stadtweiher is a pond in Kempten (Allgäu) on the main road 12 to Buchenberg on the edge of the district Stiftallmey. There used to be in Kempten a second pond of this name, which was also called Sommerweiher, the hamlet Sommers in the northeast of the district of Sankt Mang, a damming of Sommerweiherbach.

The city pond has an area of about 5 hectares. A good 700 meters northeast is the much smaller Steufzger Weiher.

The pond used to be part of the water supply in Kempten. It belongs to the system known in the vernacular Schlangenbach from canals, Stauweihern and streams, which served to supply water to the colony and the imperial city. The city pond was created on surfaces of the monastery Kempten already 1494 and got its water by the impoundment of several smaller sources and the Wildmoosbach in the Allmey (formerly Allmei) west of Kempten. This impoundment is the imperial city in 1484 by Emperor Frederick III. Approved. The city had bought the land for it from the former city lord, the prince abbot.

Due to the damming, the imperial city was able to regulate its water supply during dry periods.

The pond has always been used for fish farming. The current tenant of the Stadtweiher is the fishing association Niedersonthofener See. Southwest of the pond are today orchard meadows and 1978 landscaped allotment "Westlicher Stadtweiher". There is a popular promenade around, which is wheelchair-accessible only in sections. Also on the city pond, as on the other waters in Kempten, can be observed beaver tracks.

In 2013, a discussion centered on the poplar wood art work "Zwei große Hände" by Robert Liebenstein, which was erected at the city pond a good eight years ago, after it had stood a few months before the residence. In the meantime, the artwork has been so badly weathered that its stability was endangered. The artist's proposal to sink the "hands" in the city pond was not realized. For this, the "hands" have now been laid flat and left to further disintegration as part of the art project.
