After the large diversions of the Livenza river carried out by the Venetian Government in the 17th century, the watercourse remained unchanged until the 20th century, when, in 1900, interventions resumed with some diversions.

In the charming village of Corbolone, a hamlet of San Stino di Livenza, a vast meander of the Livenza was amputated and partly reused for the Malgher canal, as a collector of two tributaries of the Livenza (the Sile and the Fiume).

It was as part of this intervention that, in 1930, the "Salto di Corbolone" was built, a hydraulic work located at the end of the Postumia canal and before the union with the Fosson canal, drainage collector of the natural drainage part of the reclamation of S. Osvaldo, conditioning the hydraulic regime of approximately 10,000 ha and producing an oxygenation effect on the water useful for the valley flow.
