The exact year of construction of the Catholic Church is no longer known, but it is assumed that it was built before the year 1000, from which the tower still dates; it is mentioned for the first time in the 13th century. This church is probably the oldest church in Mengen and Ennetach.
When Menge became a free city, the Martinskirche became an independent parish from 1275 to 1805.
